{Project Workshop, 15 March 2018 (Tampere, Finland)}

On March 15, Tampere hosted a workshop on sustainable urban mobility planning. The workshop participants shared their experience of addressing the challenges while planning a sustainable transportation system. The City of Tampere is going to initiate their first Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) process, starting with the trams project, their biggest investment. In 2021, the city plans to launch trams as intermodal passenger transport: it will offer special places for non-motorized modes of transport, and a residential development will be designed along the tram lines. Pskov also plans to revive trams that will be one of the steps towards safe and comfortable transportation system of the city.

The workshop was attended by Kristina Kobyz, Head of Department for Implementation of Cross-Border Cooperation Programmes, Pskov City Administration and representatives of the ICSER Leontief Centre – Olga Iakimenko and Elena Belova, being also the Green Mobility Project Coordinators.
